How to reach Norway's best trout rivers
Fly to Oslo (Gardermoen), Trondheim (Værnes), or regional airports. Rena and Glomma are 2-3h drive from Oslo. Namsen and Gaula are near Trondheim.
Best option for river fishing — you'll need a car to reach different river sections. Well-maintained roads throughout Norway. Rena: E6 north from Oslo, then Rv3.
NSB trains run from Oslo to Rena (3h) and Trondheim (7h). The Røros Line passes through excellent fishing territory. Combine train + local rental car.
Most rivers have designated parking areas and walking paths to fishing spots. Many sections are within walking distance of small villages with accommodation.
